FortisBC Dual Fuel Heating System Rebate (2025)
Upgrade to a more efficient home heating system and save. FortisBC is offering a $5,000 rebate when you install a qualifying dual fuel heating system, which combines an electric heat pump with a natural gas furnace.

What Is a Dual Fuel System?
A dual fuel system pairs two high-efficiency technologies:
- Electric heat pump: for energy-efficient heating and cooling
- High-efficiency natural gas furnace: for reliable performance in colder temperatures
Together, they offer cost savings, improved year-round comfort, and lower greenhouse gas emissions.
Current Rebate Amounts (Effective May 1, 2025)

How to Qualify
To receive the FortisBC dual fuel rebate:
- Purchase an eligible air source heat pump and gas furnace
- Have the system installed by a Technical Safety BC licensed contractor who is a member of the Home Performance Contractor Network
- Submit your application within 6 months of the installation invoice date
- Include your FortisBC account number, paid invoice, heat load calculation, commissioning sheet, and photos (if requested)
Important: Applications may take up to 90 days to process. Mailed cheques are currently the only rebate payment method.
